Subscriptions.

What used to be saved for magazines and book clubs has quickly become a model for products and services. Why?

Subscriptions can be automated and renewed on a regular basis, making purchases and memberships easy.

Subscriptions come in a variety of forms:

  1. Temporary subscriptions: One-time events that don’t require follow-up. For example, a concert, sporting event, or show. You can opt-in to receive updates on future events.
  2. Limited subscriptions: AKA trial subscriptions or offers. Subscribed for a limited time to give you a taste of the product or service—may include manual or automatic renewal.
  3. Automatic subscriptions: The subscription automatically renews until you cancel or unsubscribe.

Much like products and services, we also subscribe to behaviors, assumptions, and beliefs—others’ and our own. We agree to habits and rules that come with “opting in”.

Whether financially or personally, subscriptions are investments. Taking time to review our investments regularly is important. To what or whom are you subscribed? Are you getting value? Is this subscription helping you? Is it still a worthy investment?

If your answer is no, it might be time to opt-out or unsubscribe. You are worth it.
